You are What You Eat

How many times did we hear you are what you eat during 'Health', 'Home Ec' or FACS class in Middle School?  Well recently at a conference I saw the below bumper sticker and it got me thinking about what our dairy cows eat and why this might be important to me.

One of the companies out there creating 100% Grass-Fed Dairy is Maple Hill Creamery.  They had the attached infographic on their website that really explained to me why 100% Grass-Fed is important to me, and to the cows.

That bumper sticker was a great piece of marketing that got the consumer (me)  thinking and changing my behavior. I think it was more effective that just saying on a label 100% Grass-Fed!

Blogging Inspirations

Some inspiration from other very successful marketers.

I really find the Food Politics Blog would be interesting http://www.foodpolitics.com.

The October 20th blog   Uh oh. Big Soda lobbyists weaken Mexican soda taxwas a wonderful glimpse into food and Mexico.  The 'sin tax' that the Mexico's Congressional Finance Committee proposed and voted on was on the surface a great idea for public health but what about personal freedom of choice?  Is sugar to be treated like alcohol and cigarettes - what will be the next 'sin' that we are taxing.  I didn't realize that Mexico already had a tax on beverages with 10% or more sugar-sweetened  and that this measure was to reduce the 'allowable rate to 5%' .

I understand that public health is a societal issue but there have to be other ways to improve the nations heath rather than tax a choice.

I would love to hear about others favorite blogs.
